Technical Director:

The candidate should believe in developing students as theatre technicians and should have strong design/build, management, teaching, and leadership skills; with experience and skillset in various aspects of sound design, lighting design, set design; stage carpentry; projections, stage/house management; safety precautions, and procedures.
Specifically:
• Oversees PAC management to include scheduling and support for various functions and productions. Mentors and assign crews to run/operate events, and performances. PAC Stipend and PAC class period provided.
• Manage pre-and post-production: Work with director and crew to create designs, checklists, plans, and timelines for design, build, and strike for all productions. Facility with ETC EOS family of lighting consoles, and Yamaha QL5 Digital sound boards. They must be highly organized, a motivated problem solver, and finish projects within existing timeline

• Develops relationships, manages, and leverages student talent in design, construction, lighting, sound, mapping, and technology through productions and competition with UIL OAP, UIL Technical Design, and Thespian competition. They will lead builds, Runs technical rehearsal calls, technical rehearsals, and productions.

• Develop appropriate instructional strategies by utilizing the TEKS and by
collaborating with theatre colleagues on a regular basis, in the form of PLCs, and through professional theatre organizations such as TxTETA, Thespians, USITT

• Strategizes the growth and management of a newer technical department with director, and assists in growing a middle and high school program in both quantity and
quality through recruiting and retention practices

• Maintains communication with students, parents, and colleagues
