Southwest ISD is seeking an energetic, dynamic, and hard-working individual to teach Technical Theatre for the 2026-2027 school year at Southwest Legacy High School. This position requires high-energy applicants that are student centered and build positive student connections. Applicants should demonstrate strengths in all aspects of technical theatre: teaching tech classes and safety, building sets, sound and lighting design, event operations, assisting with all productions, UIL One Act Play, and managing a program with vertical alignment with the feeder middle school programs. The successful applicant will teach Technical Theatre in grades 9-12 at Legacy HS, serve as faculty sponsor for the Legacy Thespian Troupe, and help build a strong Theatre program. The applicant must have the ability to work with high school-aged students, maintain positive working relationships with parents, students, teachers, and administration. A strong work ethic, positive enthusiasm, and a high level of organization is required. The ability to speak Spanish is a plus. Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre and also possess a valid Texas Teachers Certificate in Theatre EC-12. Experience is preferred.
