Job Description: Position Summary:
Crowley High School is seeking an enthusiastic and student-centered Theater Arts Teacher to lead our performance-based theater curriculum and inspire students through creativity, collaboration, and excellence in stage performance. The ideal candidate will teach acting and theater studies, direct major productions, and help create a strong, inclusive theater community that feels like family.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Teach high school theater courses, focusing on acting, performance techniques, improvisation, and theater history.
• Direct and produce student-centered theatrical performances (fall play, spring musical, UIL One Act Play, etc.).
• Build and maintain a supportive, inclusive, and motivating environment in the classroom and on stage.
• Reestablish relationships with former theater students and encourage new enrollment in the program.
• Develop a strong sense of pride, ownership, and teamwork within the student theater company.
• Promote the program through school-wide engagement and community outreach.
• Collaborate with the Technical Theater Director for all technical production needs (lighting, sound, sets, costumes, etc.).
• Coordinate rehearsals, performance schedules, and student participation in events and competitions.
• Support students in applying theater techniques, self-expression, and collaboration skills.
• Participate in district and campus meetings, professional development, and fine arts events.
• Maintain grading, lesson planning, and instructional alignment with TEKS and district goals.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Theater, Theater Education, or related field required.
• Valid Texas Teaching Certificate in Theater Arts (EC–12) or eligibility for certification.
• Demonstrated experience in directing plays, musicals, or student-led productions.
• Strong instructional and classroom management skills.
• Passion for working with diverse student populations and building a positive theater culture.
