Job Description: Huffman ISD is seeking a passionate and dynamic Theatre Teacher to lead and grow our high school theatre program at Hargrave High School. The ideal candidate is committed to fostering student creativity, performance excellence, and a love for the dramatic arts through both classroom instruction and extracurricular productions.

Responsibilities Include:

Develop and implement engaging theatre curriculum aligned with TEKS
Direct and produce high-quality theatrical productions, including UIL One-Act Play
Sponsor and oversee the Theatre Club and student performances
Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment
Collaborate with fine arts colleagues and campus leadership
Manage production logistics, including rehearsals, costumes, sets, and lighting
Promote student participation in regional and state-level competitions and events
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Theatre, Fine Arts, or related field
Valid Texas teaching certification in Theatre (EC–12) or eligible to obtain
Experience directing high school productions preferred
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Passion for mentoring and inspiring students

Direct and attend PSIA One Act Play competition in the Spring- Regional/State (MS Theatre II Class) Teach all technical theatre courses as well as instruct and mentor students involved in the International Thespian Festival (ITS) with a technical theatre focus. Attendance at State and National festivals is required as needed. Oversee all technical aspects of PCA Theatrical productions including set design and construction, load-in, load-out, production coordination, volunteer coordination, liaison with theatre tech crew, managing warehouse and storage facility usage.
