Sheldon ISD Campus: C.E. King Middle School Job Title: Theatre Director
Job Description: Sheldon ISD of northeast Houston is looking for a full-time Theatre Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year at C.E. King Middle School, which feeds 6A C.E. King High School that houses our active Texas Thespians Troupe. As the former high school campus, C.E. King Middle School features a 1400-seat auditorium with full theatre lighting and sound systems and controls, a black box theatre classroom, a scene shop, makeup rooms, and storage. We are looking for an engaging, energetic, organized, collaborative, and pedagogically-strong theatre educator who can provide student-centered instruction to all levels of students (from novices through early production-experienced), direct 2-3 main stage productions per year - including a UIL One Act Play - and developmentally-appropriate showcase opportunities for all theatre students, consider fostering a middle school Texas Thespian Troupe, participate in the MS UIL Theatrical Design pilot contest, and make a positive impact in students' lives. Preferred applicant experience/credentials would include Theatre EC-12 Texas Teacher Certification or acceptance into an ACP for such; an aptitude in, passion for, and experience in professional, educational, and/or community theatre; and a track record of success at diverse, Title I campuses; but all levels of theatre/teaching experience will be considered.
